Biography
Kehinde Taiwo is a Lagos-based multidisciplinary artist, originally from Ondo State, Nigeria, whose work is a vibrant tapestry of African culture and contemporary life. His creative journey began in childhood through an early fascination with comic books, laying the foundation for a practice that combines visual storytelling with cultural exploration.
Working across oil and acrylic painting, pen drawing, and textile pattern drafting, Taiwo creates works rich in narrative depth and cultural resonance. He is a graduate of Yaba College of Technology, where he earned both a National Diploma in General Art and a Higher National Diploma in Painting. His practice explores themes of identity, community, and the evolving nature of African culture, expressed through bold compositions and thoughtful visual language.
In 2025, Taiwo exhibited at the Lagos Pop-Up Museum hosted at Ecobank, further establishing his presence within Nigeria's contemporary art scene. Through his work, he invites viewers to engage with the richness of African heritage while reflecting on the complexities of contemporary life, creating conversations that transcend borders and resonate with audiences worldwide.
