Hidden Silhouettes Behind Fans, 2026

Kristina Mallen

In this elegant work, I depict female figures, female silhouettes, and female bodies that emerge from a layered atmosphere of emerald, green, and soft lime tones, transitioning into deep contrasts of black.

The composition is built around partial visibility, where female faces are not fully revealed and instead dissolve into abstraction, leaving only fragments of presence and form. The viewer is invited to focus on the rhythm of concealment created by three fans, which function both as protection and as a separation between the bodies and the surrounding space.

The female silhouettes appear fragmented, as if cut by light and shadow, emphasizing intimacy without direct exposure. On the left side, there is a small hidden accent behind one of the fans — a subtle hint and a delicate erotic detail of a breast, revealed only through a narrow opening, almost like a secret pulse within the composition. This detail remains understated, enhancing a sense of sensuality rather than direct display.

The palette moves through the depth of emerald, rich green, and fresh translucent tones, creating a contrast with the dark silhouettes. The fans become architectural elements of concealment, forming a quiet tension between the visible and the hidden, between presence and secrecy.
