Description
The artist painted this plein air sketch from nature during his creative trip to the village of Malia on the Greek island of Crete in 2012, in a single session in the alla prima style.
This artwork is a stunning landscape painting capturing the serene beauty of a coastal environment the village of Malia. The composition showcases a vast expanse of rocky terrain leading to the tranquil blue sea. In the distance, gentle rolling hills rise, adding depth and a sense of tranquility. The artist employs a muted but rich palette, balancing earthy tones of the rocks with the vibrant blue of the ocean and clear sky. The play of light on the surfaces creates a naturalistic texture, giving the painting a lifelike quality. The framing complements the artwork, enhancing its timeless appeal.
