Framed in a choice of American-style box: natural or black wood

In this composition, constructed like a visual score, Sophie Dumont explores the subtle links between rhythm, balance, and resonance. Large curved forms with hints of cellos or stylized silhouettes interact with a network of architecturally structured verticals, creating a harmonious tension between movement and stability.

Deep blues bring a luminous breath of fresh air, while ochres, brownish reds, and muted greens create a soft warmth. The forms seem to echo each other from one edge of the canvas to the other, like the different voices of a musical ensemble. No single motif truly dominates the space; each contributes to a collective construction where masses, colors, and lines find their rightful place.

Created with oil paint and multiple layers of paint, the work reveals a richness of textures and nuances that are gradually unveiled. The traces of the brushstrokes, the transparencies, and the successive layers give the surface a vibrant depth characteristic of Sophie Dumont's work.

Between geometric abstraction and poetic evocation, it invites the viewer to construct their own interpretation of the image, oscillating between interior architecture, human presence, and a musical universe. A work where the rigor of the composition is combined with a great pictorial sensitivity.
