In this captivating surrealist vision, Artush Voskanyan transforms a majestic mountain range into the serene face of a woman — the spirit of the highlands made flesh. Her stone-grey features rise from emerald valleys and rugged cliffs, crowned with an ornamental band, while dark birds glide across her closed eyes like dreams in flight. In the foreground, ripe pomegranates and a clay vessel bearing an ancient Armenian eternity symbol anchor the scene in cultural memory, draped in a sweep of crimson cloth and crimson-leafed branches. Rendered in luminous, finely blended oils, this allegorical work weaves together land, woman, and heritage into a poetic meditation on homeland, beauty, and timeless belonging.
