Description
This abstract composition explores the tension between order and chaos. The canvas is structured around an irregular grid. Squares interlock and overlap. The gesture is direct, almost instinctive.
The palette favors neutral tones. White and gray dominate the space. Touches of ochre and earth bring an organic warmth. The acrylic is worked in successive layers.
The raw aspect emphasizes the material. The brush leaves visible traces. Some areas appear erased, others saturated. This play of textures evokes a worn wall or an old parchment.
The balance rests on the contrast of masses. The eye circulates between the light areas and the dark blocks. The geometric structure fades behind the spontaneous expression.
The whole exudes a contemplative sobriety. The work is part of a search for formal simplicity. The artist's signature appears discreetly in the bottom right, accompanied by the date 2026.
Presentation
(a.o.t.) is a Copenhagen-based concept design studio. With an insatiable curiosity, (a.o.t.) strives to prioritize contemporary relevance and storytelling in the things they produce - ranging from collections to unique pieces. They engender productions that do not hide behind their own utilitarianism and want them to be more than temporary supernumeraries in our lives - in order to challenge our perception of things. Both fascinated and frustrated by the history of manufacturing and production, they seek to learn, unlearn, rethink and challenge conventional ways of doing things. That's why their manufacturing process always starts with what our own hands can do. Reconfiguring the default way of thinking about things down to handmade processes. This ensures our versatility to an ever-changing contemporaneity. In an attempt to further challenge this way of thinking, they intend to create encoded productions with a contemporary presence through storytelling that goes beyond the thing itself - material curiosity, experimental contextualization or simply relevant things of the present. It means creating a closer relationship with the owner.
