Description

Violet hydrangeas bloom, drip, and softly shift. This original oil and acrylic artwork presents hydrangeas in a dramatic palette of violet, royal blue, lavender, deep green, and warm beige. Inspired by the mountains of northern Bali, where the artist found a young hydrangea plant and brought it back to the studio to work from life, the artwork explores how nature is never fixed. Hydrangeas change color with the soil, and this piece turns that quiet botanical fact into a poetic visual statement.

The thick impasto petals create a sculptural surface, making the flowers feel full, touchable, and almost in motion. Blurred edges and running drips suggest constant change, while the sandy neutral background gives the composition warmth and balance. This contemporary floral artwork is perfect for modern interiors, bedrooms, living rooms, boutique hotels, offices, and elegant decorative spaces. It also makes a thoughtful gift for flower lovers, collectors of botanical art, or anyone who appreciates beauty with a little depth and a lot of texture.

Presentation

Mily ART (Emiliia) is a contemporary painter based in Ubud, Indonesia. She graduated in 2015 from the Russian University of the Academy of Education in Moscow with a degree in Fine Arts.

Working primarily in oil with a palette knife, Emiliia creates expressive impasto paintings defined by rich texture, bold color, and dynamic movement. Her visual language is built through thick layers of paint, flowing drips, and energetic strokes that emphasize the physical presence of the medium. The surface of the canvas becomes an active field where color, light, and gesture interact.

Nature is the central source of her inspiration. Flowers and landscapes encountered during her travels transform into emotional landscapes—vivid, blooming compositions that reflect vitality, freedom, and renewal. Her ongoing series Flowing Flowers explores the sensation of awakening life, using intensified hues and sculptural impasto to convey emotional release and movement.

Emiliia often begins with plein air studies or travel photography, later developing these impressions into large-scale works. Rather than reproducing nature, she translates its energy into tactile color fields, allowing paint itself to embody growth and motion.

Her work has been presented in international and national exhibitions, including The Color of Summer at the Ostankino TV Tower (2024) and The Flower Kingdom at the Moscow Union of Artists (2022), where her painting Peonies received First Prize. She held a solo exhibition at IZO Gallery in Moscow in 2019.

Through expressive oil painting and sculptural texture, Emiliia creates contemporary works that celebrate the emotional power of nature—inviting viewers to slow down, feel presence, and reconnect with color as a living force.
