The funeral of the hated, 2024

Ziad Dib Jreige

This abstract composition pulses with raw emotional energy. Deep crimson tones collide with midnight blues to create a dramatic atmosphere. The application of paint is visceral. Thick textures suggest a sense of urgency. Vertical streaks dominate the canvas. They evoke silhouettes of figures or ancient ruins emerging from a storm.
The interplay of light and shadow is masterful. Pale white accents pierce through the darkness like flashes of lightning. These luminous streaks provide a sharp contrast to the brooding background. The surface is tactile and rich. Every brushstroke adds a layer of depth to the narrative.
The artist explores the tension between chaos and structure. Fluid forms melt into one another. The result is a hauntingly beautiful vision. It captures a moment of transition or collapse. The palette remains focused and intense. This artwork balances a feeling of mourning with a spark of hope. The gaze is drawn toward the brightest point in the upper right corner. Here, the colors soften into a ghostly glow. The composition concludes with heavy, dark pigments that anchor the entire scene.
