Abstraction study No. 2, 2025

Ziad Dib Jreige

This oil painting presents a vibrant landscape defined by raw energy and poetic movement. Thick impasto strokes create a tactile surface. The composition centers on slender, vertical forms that pierce a luminous sky. These organic shapes evoke the silhouette of cypress trees. A palette of deep greens and electric yellows grounds the scene in a lush meadow. Above, the atmosphere swirls in shades of violet and soft pink. This chromatic tension suggests a moment between dusk and dawn. The artist merges a sense of realism with a dreamlike fantasy. Every brushstroke feels deliberate yet spontaneous. The oval format enhances the intimacy of the view. It invites the viewer into a space of quiet contemplation. The distant mountains blend into the horizon with dark, moody tones. This contrast heightens the radiance of the foreground. The artwork transforms a natural scene into an intellectual exploration of light and color. It reflects a fusion of visual art and literary inspiration. The heavy application of paint adds a sculptural dimension to the canvas. The final result is a vivid study of nature seen through an imaginative lens.
