At The Treshold 5., 2026

Petr Strnad   Emerging artists

At The Threshold is a series of mixed-media paintings on paper exploring transition, tension, and transformation. The works exist in a space between order and disruption, structure and intuition, capturing the feeling of standing on the edge of change. Rather than representing a physical place, the series reflects psychological and emotional moments of uncertainty, decision, vulnerability, and anticipation.

Through the interaction of geometric forms and textured surfaces, I create compositions that balance precision with spontaneity. The paintings invite viewers to move beyond what is immediately visible and engage with the rhythm of shape, space, and material, exploring the relationship between what is defined and what is left open.

My abstract practice uses perspective and geometry to reinterpret the world through a personal visual language. Instead of describing reality, the paintings suggest possibilities, creating space for imagination and encouraging viewers to reflect on perception, movement, and the idea of the horizon as a metaphor for change.

Each artwork is sealed with a transparent semi-gloss varnish that protects the surface while enhancing the richness and depth of its layered textures. Every piece is titled and signed on the back.
