Sujetaré tu memoria, 2015

Cristina Redondo

A single rose emerges from a sea of crumpled fabric. The composition breathes a quiet melancholy. Soft oil glazes create a seamless transition between light and shadow. A delicate hand grips the stem with a fragile yet determined hold. This monochrome palette strips away distraction. It focuses the eye on the raw emotion of remembrance. The texture of the cloth mimics the folds of a shroud or a forgotten letter. Every brushstroke emphasizes the contrast between the organic softness of the flower and the tension in the fingers. The artwork explores the weight of absence through a minimalist lens. Light falls gently across the petals, suggesting a fading presence. The monochromatic approach elevates the scene to a timeless state. It transforms a simple floral motif into a profound meditation on loss and loyalty. The gaze is drawn along the slender line of the stem toward the tightly closed bud. This vertical axis anchors the swirling movement of the background. The final effect is one of ethereal stillness and deep introspection.
