Lucha Interior / Lutte et silence, 2026

Cristina Redondo

This oil painting captures a moment of profound stillness. A young woman emerges from a muted, atmospheric background. Her gaze is wide and searching. It evokes a sense of quiet introspection. The artist employs soft gradients to sculpt the face. Light falls gently across the brow and cheeks. This creates a porcelain effect that feels both fragile and timeless.
The composition emphasizes a contrast between the structured features of the face and the fluid movement of the hair. Deep browns and mahogany tones cascade over the shoulder in sweeping curves. The dark blue garment anchors the figure. It blends seamlessly into the shadows of the environment. This fusion suggests a blurring of boundaries between the subject and her inner world.
The artwork aligns with the tradition of vanity. It explores the tension between external beauty and internal conflict. Every brushstroke is precise yet breathable. The result is a hauntingly serene portrait. It invites the viewer to contemplate the silence that exists beneath the surface. The focus remains on the expressive power of the eyes and the velvet texture of the oil medium.
