The Natural Laws of Flowers, 2025

Hua Qing

A vivid collision of science and nature. This oil painting captures the fragile beauty of blossoms against a deep, void-like background. Large, expressive flowers dominate the composition. One blooms in a passionate, saturated red. Another glows in soft, ethereal pink. These floral forms emerge with a sculptural intensity.

Beneath the petals, a hidden layer reveals itself. White mathematical formulas and scientific equations float across the black expanse. These symbols act as a silent architecture. They suggest a universal order governing the growth of every leaf and stem.
The artist blends figurative precision with a poetic sensibility. Thick brushstrokes create a tactile surface. Green foliage weaves through the space, connecting the biological to the theoretical. It is a meditation on the laws of the cosmos. The contrast between the organic curves and the rigid logic of physics creates a compelling tension. Every detail reflects a search for harmony between the visible world and the invisible forces that shape it. The composition concludes with delicate white accents that mimic distant stars or floating pollen.
