Description
This figurative oil painting captures a delicate balance between structure and fluidity. A dark, jagged branch cuts through a luminous atmosphere. Small pink blossoms emerge like soft whispers against a pale backdrop. The composition is built from a rhythmic grid of small, rectangular brushstrokes. This mosaic-like technique creates a shimmering surface. It transforms the canvas into a tactile experience. Soft blues and muted creams blend seamlessly to suggest a hazy light. The artist utilizes her background in interior design to master space and harmony. Every color choice feels intentional and emotive. The contrast between the sharp black lines and the ethereal petals evokes a sense of fragile strength. This artwork explores the intersection of organic forms and geometric precision. It reflects a deeply personal sensibility through a contemporary lens. The play of light enhances the depth of the background. Tiny touches of green hint at new growth. The overall effect is one of serene contemplation. It is a study of nature viewed through a structured, artistic filter. The painting concludes with a focus on the intricate layering of oil paint.
Presentation
Born in 1979 in Tbilisi, Georgia, Maya Jimsheleishvili is a Georgian artist and interior designer whose creative journey began in early childhood. Demonstrating an exceptional artistic talent from a young age, she held her first exhibition while still in kindergarten. She later pursued formal studies at the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts, graduating in 2003, and further expanded her artistic and design education through specialized courses in art and interior design at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London (UAL). Working across painting and interior design, Jimsheleishvili explores the expressive power of color, texture, and composition. Her vibrant visual language reflects a fascination with emotion, movement, and harmony, resulting in works that bridge contemporary aesthetics with a deeply personal artistic sensibility. Alongside her artistic practice, she leads her own interior design studio and operates a boutique dedicated to furniture and decorative objects. Her interdisciplinary approach has led to a variety of prestigious commissions, including the creation of monumental dragon panels for the iconic Buddha-Bar Tbilisi. Jimsheleishvili's work has been exhibited internationally in solo and group exhibitions across Europe, the United States, Asia, and the Middle East. Her exhibitions include presentations at the National Library in Washington, D.C., Art Monaco, New York ArtExpo, the Florence Biennale, Global Art Awards at the Armani Hotel Dubai, Art3F Paris, the Macau Art Museum, We Contemporary in Rome and Palermo, and Woman's Essence in Madrid and Berlin. Her paintings are held in private collections in Georgia, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Monaco, and Estonia, reflecting the growing international recognition of her work and its appeal to collectors worldwide.
