Description
A vivid exploration of emotion and nature. This oil painting captures a moment of profound stillness. A figure rests in a state of surrender. The composition blends figurative elements with bold abstraction. A cascade of lush green leaves flows across the foreground. These botanical forms act as a silent language. They bridge the gap between the human form and the natural world.
The palette is striking. Deep reds and geometric patterns dominate the upper section. This creates a sharp contrast with the organic softness of the foliage. The artist employs a sophisticated sense of color and texture. Every brushstroke emphasizes a harmony between tension and peace.
The garment's ruffled detail adds a touch of classical elegance. It grounds the scene in a tangible reality. Meanwhile, the background shifts into a rhythmic, architectural space. This duality reflects a multidisciplinary approach to composition. The artwork evokes a sense of poetic melancholy. It transforms a quiet gesture into a powerful visual narrative. The gaze is drawn toward the delicate intersection of skin and leaf.
Presentation
Born in 1979 in Tbilisi, Georgia, Maya Jimsheleishvili is a Georgian artist and interior designer whose creative journey began in early childhood. Demonstrating an exceptional artistic talent from a young age, she held her first exhibition while still in kindergarten. She later pursued formal studies at the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts, graduating in 2003, and further expanded her artistic and design education through specialized courses in art and interior design at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London (UAL). Working across painting and interior design, Jimsheleishvili explores the expressive power of color, texture, and composition. Her vibrant visual language reflects a fascination with emotion, movement, and harmony, resulting in works that bridge contemporary aesthetics with a deeply personal artistic sensibility. Alongside her artistic practice, she leads her own interior design studio and operates a boutique dedicated to furniture and decorative objects. Her interdisciplinary approach has led to a variety of prestigious commissions, including the creation of monumental dragon panels for the iconic Buddha-Bar Tbilisi. Jimsheleishvili's work has been exhibited internationally in solo and group exhibitions across Europe, the United States, Asia, and the Middle East. Her exhibitions include presentations at the National Library in Washington, D.C., Art Monaco, New York ArtExpo, the Florence Biennale, Global Art Awards at the Armani Hotel Dubai, Art3F Paris, the Macau Art Museum, We Contemporary in Rome and Palermo, and Woman's Essence in Madrid and Berlin. Her paintings are held in private collections in Georgia, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Monaco, and Estonia, reflecting the growing international recognition of her work and its appeal to collectors worldwide.
