Description
This abstract composition plays on fluidity and transparency. The watercolor spreads freely, creating organic shapes that intertwine on the paper. The center of the composition concentrates earthy and ochre tones, while touches of blue and pink sprinkle the edges.
The gesture is spontaneous. The pigments diffuse without constraint, evoking a form of visual meditation. The lightness of the medium allows for subtle superimpositions and plays of transparency.
The influence of Japanese calligraphy is felt in the rhythm of the lines. These curves envelop the heart of the piece, guiding the eye towards the denser nuances. The chromatic balance brings a serene harmony to the whole.
Created in 2013, this painting explores the relationship between chance and control. Each spot and each stroke reveals a precise intention. The whiteness of the support accentuates the luminosity of the colors and the fineness of the contours.
Presentation
Art for me is the freedom to express the different shades of color of the human soul. Putting the colors on the canvas is a kind of meditation. My hands move in a certain rhythm using a spatula to mix the colors directly on the canvas. I let the colors and my soul choose their direction. In fact the colors take their direction by themselves. I know exactly when my painting is ready, usually when it has reached a certain color balance. My major influences are Monet and Cezanne. I really appreciate the works of Van Gogh, Sissley Renoir and Micheal Angelo. I am fascinated by Japanese art and calligraphy.
