Description
A restrained composition where two female figures meet. The gaze is captivated by the softness of the features and the melancholy of the expressions. The line, precise and assured, draws silhouettes that seem to emerge from a textured background.
The use of a monochrome palette emphasizes the timeless aspect of the scene. The shades of gray, white, and earth create a subtle play of shadows. An influence of classical techniques is perceived, mixed with a contemporary approach to acrylics.
The material is worked with care. It brings a tactile relief to the canvas, sometimes evoking the mineral quality of a fresco. The draped costume of the standing figure contrasts with the partial nudity of the second woman.
The whole exudes an atmosphere of serenity and contemplation. The tight framing places the viewer at the heart of a moment of silent intimacy. Each brushstroke structures the space with balance. The light seems to come from a diffuse source, accentuating the depth of the gazes.
Presentation
After having practiced painting on silk for many years, she trained as a fresco artist (St Savin Abbey). Discovered late the painting in autodicdate in oil then in acrylic and devotes itself there with passion. A vital need to make up for lost time in this field.
