Description
The fixed and deep gaze immediately attracts attention. The face emerges from a tormented background where earthy tones and flashes of blue mingle. The touch is frank. The material accumulates in successive layers, creating a tactile relief on the canvas.
The stroke precisely outlines the contours of the lips and the intensity of the eyes. A hand gently touches the shoulder, bringing a human and intimate dimension to the composition. The contrast between the clarity of the complexion and the darkness of the hair structures the space.
The light seems to come from an invisible source, sculpting the volumes of the bust and the face. The quick and directional brushstrokes infuse constant movement into the whole. The chromatic balance rests on the opposition between warm ochres and cool pigments. The composition closes on a play of raw textures and nuanced shades.
Presentation
After having practiced painting on silk for many years, she trained as a fresco artist (St Savin Abbey). Discovered late the painting in autodicdate in oil then in acrylic and devotes itself there with passion. A vital need to make up for lost time in this field.
