Description
This painting presents a twilight scene where the trees stand against a richly coloured sky. The light of the celestial body spreads pink, orange and violet tones that create a gentle and decorative atmosphere. The contrast between the dark silhouettes and the luminous sky enhances the sense of depth, while the textured brushwork strengthens the visual presence of the composition. The work asserts a strong decorative dimension through its interplay of colours and its radiant mood.

Catherine Chopinet est peintre, elle vit et travaille à Paris.
Diplômée de l'école nationale supérieure des Arts décoratifs de Paris, elle développe dans sa peinture un univers personnel, croisement d'une observation rigoureuse de la nature et des émotions qui la traversent. Très marquée par son enfance en Lozère, elle n'a de cesse d'explorer ses paysages intérieurs.
Son travail par série s'apparente à une quête de soi, dans une joie de la couleur et de la matière toujours renouvelée.
Ses dernières recherches sont basées sur des images de tous les jours : pages glacées et impersonnelles de magazines. Elle les habille, les habite, les transpose, les réchauffe, leur donne vie, et harmonie. Elle les ré-enchante.
Le hasard joue un rôle, lui aussi : il laisse entrevoir telle ou telle partie de l'image initiale, comme une âme, cachée mais entrevue : un morceau de texte, de corps, un visage, parfois juste un aplat de couleur, plus brillant et qui un contraste avec la matière mate de la peinture.
Et une poésie se dégage, incarnée et sensible.
