Description
With Born to Be Iconic, Xavier Wttrwulghe revisits one of the great symbols of art history: the birth of Venus. Here, the mythological figure leaves the classical universe to enter a contemporary landscape, free and vibrant.
Standing on a huge shell, the woman seems to emerge from the water like an apparition. Her posture expresses sensuality, strength, and freedom. Her sunglasses with pink lenses bring a resolutely contemporary touch and become a real filter on the world, while the blue, yellow, and pink colors give the scene an almost dreamlike atmosphere.
Around this central figure, Xavier Wttrwulghe mixes painting, spontaneous gestures, and graphic language inspired by street art. The inscriptions reinforce the message of the work: to be born free, to embrace one's identity and create one's own codes.
The contrast between the reference to classical painting and urban interventions creates a meeting between two eras. The ideal beauty of the traditional Venus becomes here a modern, independent female icon, freed from conventions.
A work that is at once elegant, bold, and luminous, where art history meets pop culture and the energy of street art.
