Past life #2, 2026

Made Wiradana

Wiradana is a Bali-based contemporary artist whose practice is deeply rooted in the cultural and spiritual landscape of Indonesia. His work reflects a dynamic interplay between tradition and contemporary expression, drawing inspiration from Balinese mythology, ritual, and daily life.

Working primarily across painting and mixed media, Wiradana explores themes of identity, transformation, and the relationship between the visible and the unseen. His compositions often feature layered textures, symbolic elements, and a strong sense of rhythm, creating works that are both visually striking and conceptually rich.

While grounded in local cultural references, his artistic language resonates with a broader international audience, offering a contemporary interpretation of heritage that transcends geographical boundaries. His works invite viewers into a space where narrative, memory, and spirituality converge.

His works are held in private collections internationally, reflecting a growing recognition among collectors. Over the years, Wiradana has also collaborated with established galleries in Jakarta and other cultural hubs, further consolidating his presence within the contemporary art scene in Southeast Asia.

In 2026, Wiradana began collaborating with Tobian Art Gallery, further expanding his presence within the European contemporary art market.
