Description
In this fresh from the artist studio 2026 version of L'affranchie tizlu unites emotional intensity and subtle symbolism in a portrait that captures both inner and outer freedom. At the center stands a young woman – her gaze searching, her expression determined, as if she is sensing the very moment when release becomes realization.
This is one of tizlu's signature works, always hand-painted – without stencil or screen – the work unfolds on a textured canvas reminiscent of a weathered city wall. This raw surface lends the composition an urban authenticity that echoes the spirit of street art while preserving a quiet, poetic depth.
The background vibrates with luminous tones of blue, yellow, and red – a dynamic play of motion, energy, and emotion. Emerging faintly beneath these layers is the recognizable typography of a famous French newspaper, a subtle nod to the spirit of freedom, rebellion, and intellect that tizlu channels into the present.
The result is a work that balances intuition and intellect – raw yet refined, sensual yet deliberate. speaks of the pursuit of independence, the courage to defy convention, and the strength it takes to stand in one's own truth.
Despite its intimate scale, the piece carries a monumental presence. The sharp contrasts, rhythmic color interplay, and tension between figure and space give it a powerful emotional charge.
This is not merely a depiction – it is a statement. A visual hymn to freedom, self-determination, and the ever-evolving act of becoming oneself.
Presentation
tizlu aka Tiziano Lucchese is an internationally known ultra-contemporary artist. He studied Art and Technology in the Netherlands and lives in Germany. His works as a multi-talented artist have been featured on television and showcased at prestigious international festivals. In addition to his work in the fine arts, tizlu worked as a director for commercials and fictional movies and editor for prime-time shows on major TV networks. His art is part of renowned fairs and private collections across the globe; from New York to Paris, from Australia to Canada.
tizlu's paintings appear as they were directly cut out of a living streetscape—where everything is possible, and nothing is mainstream. His artwork is the result of a refined blend of materials and techniques. He uses plaster, paper, and acrylic paint to create textures that evoke the appearance of weathered walls. On this foundation, he paints his unique motifs, layers drawings, messages, self-made stickers creating an art piece which becomes an urban patchwork reflecting the raw, spontaneous character of the streets and today's society.
