Description
A female face emerges from a deep darkness. The skin, of a lunar pallor, captures a soft light. The closed eyes suggest a state of dream or meditation. Around her head, a swarm of butterflies comes to life in a colorful ballet. The bright yellow and the intense red contrast with the dark background. Touches of blue and delicate flowers intertwine in the dark hair.
The composition plays on fluid curves. The gaze is drawn to the serenity of the face before getting lost in the detail of the wings. Each insect seems to float, creating a sensation of airy lightness. The painting technique favors subtle gradients to model the volumes of the neck and shoulder.
The dark frame emphasizes the depth of the black and intensifies the brilliance of the warm tones. This painting combines anatomical precision and a dreamlike imagination. The whole exudes an atmosphere of absolute calm. The rectangular format accentuates the horizontality of the butterflies' movement.
