Description
This diptych explores duality through two monumental figures. The saturated red dominates the composition. It asserts itself forcefully against the cool nuances of the landscape.
On the left, a profile stands out under a sunlit sky. The massive body seems to merge with lush vegetation.
On the right, the back of a silhouette responds to the other under a nocturnal sky. The forms are generous. The lines are streamlined.
The contrast between the warmth of the bodies and the melancholy of the gazes creates a silent tension. The surrounding nature, rhythmic with stylized leaves, frames these figures like sentinels.
The symmetrical arrangement invites reflection on alterity and face-to-face. The chromatic palette opposes the ardent yellow of the dawn to the deep blue of the night. The visual balance rests on this radical opposition. Each canvas captures a suspended moment. The massive silhouettes occupy the space with a sculptural presence. The eye falls on the detail of the blue and green foliage in the foreground.
Presentation
Sad monsters club
I like expressive faces,
clementines,
cupid's bow,
On stormy evenings,
Big ears.
I feel reassured when it rains.
I live surrounded by my works, my monsters.
My artistic project is a gallery of portraits in bright colors in contrast with sad and melancholic expressions, questioning and imploring looks, a way of communicating concern about the current world.
