Description
Fifties girl is a work that celebrates the emblematic aesthetic of the fifties. This is translated into vibrant colors for the joyful emotion they provide, but also into femininity in what is sensual.
The artist is passionate about Technicolor cinema of the 50s and 60s, its sets and costumes.
This medium-sized work overflows with life and stages a woman whose striking presence evokes the glamour of vintage Hollywood cinema and the bold fashion of that period.
The artist chose oil painting for its rich texture and its ability to dry slowly, allowing for meticulous work on details and a rich, sensual finish. Each brushstroke brings to life vibrant, almost fluorescent colors, which are at the heart of the artist's vibrant palette, reflecting the deep conviction that color is life.
This woman could be a star of an Alfred Hitchcock film exuding an aura of mystery and seduction. The viewer is free to imagine her story...
Presentation
Karine Wagener is a painter born in Paris, where she lives and works in her studio.
Fascinated by painting and drawing since her tender childhood, she has always held a paintbrush in her hand.
After studies in Law, then in applied foreign languages English-Spanish at the University Paris VII, she goes to live between Milan and the South of France, where she works in fashion then in event management.
But art remains an obsession.
Years later, she re-establishes herself in Paris and attends painting and drawing classes for seven years at the Beaux-Arts Workshops of the City of Paris.
Today, Karine Wagener is a professional painter who celebrates the beauty of the everyday and the banal sublimated by color.
She sells in France and the United States where her works are part of private collections.
