“Breath" : A Series of Four Paintings

The series explores the rhythm of breathing as a continuous movement between stillness and energy.

The calm, almost weightless texture creates a sense of air and space. Individual, freely placed brushstrokes exist on their own - they do not seek to form a specific image, but capture separate impulses of movement.

The two central paintings form a shared circle. Their movement can be perceived as an inhale and an exhale - two opposite yet inseparable processes. The movement continues from one painting to the other, creating a sense of cyclicality and continuity.

The two outer works are more expressive. They seem to move beyond the calm rhythm of the central paintings, introducing tension, impulse and freedom into the series.

The paintings are created using the artist's original technique combining acrylic, metallic paints and metallic varnish. The multilayered, complex background creates depth and allows light to interact with the painted surface. Depending on the lighting and viewing angle, the metallic layers appear differently - from almost matte to luminous. As a result, the surface changes throughout the day, making the series seem to “breathe" together with the light in the space.

In an interior, these works create a calm yet dynamic atmosphere. The silver-white palette brings light and airiness to the space, while the darker, expressive brushstrokes add movement and character.

The series is particularly suited to modern, minimalist, Japandi, Scandinavian, contemporary and wabi-sabi interiors, as well as restrained loft spaces.

“Breath" is not about stillness, but about a continuous alternation: calm and movement, inhale and exhale, tension and release. Together, the four paintings create a single, continuous rhythm that extends into the viewer's space.
