Description
The mask represents the identity we present to the world while our true self remains unfinished beneath it, hidden, protected, and constantly evolving.
The smile on the mask hides the weight carried beneath it, a performance of strength, joy, and acceptance shaped by society. The dark lines crossing the face symbolize scars, paths, and inherited struggles passed down through generations. Inspired by ancestral markings and rituals, the piece reflects how our ancestors often wore resilience as protection, even while carrying silent pain.
This mask embodies silence, endurance, and spiritual connection to the past. The vertical black markings resemble tears, rain, and tribal inscriptions, symbols of stories our ancestors could not always speak aloud. While the centered line represents balance between identity and expectation. Though the face appears emotionless, it carries the presence of generations who learned to hide vulnerability behind ritual, tradition, and survival.
