Description
A woman stands at the center of a quiet but psychologically charged scene, while a second version of her body rises diagonally into the surrounding space. Long dark braids spread across the floor beneath the standing figure, while vivid red shoes mark the figure already in motion.
The braids represent the relationships, support, stability, possessions, and accumulated structures that tie a person to a familiar life. After the decision to move forward, they disappear. The artist's idea is not that everything is lost: the experience gained remains within, even when external circumstances are left behind.
Smoky gray, muted green, beige, and blue-gray tones give the composition a restrained atmosphere, while the red shoes introduce a concentrated symbol of possibility and determination. The doubled figure and overlapping forms allow stillness and movement to exist together, making the emotional tension of change visible.
For collectors who connect with themes of courage, independence, and transformation, the artwork offers a meaningful contemporary interpretation of a universal turning point. It can become a strong focal piece in a modern interior and a thoughtful gift for someone beginning a new chapter or making a significant life decision.
Materials: Oil on linen canvas.
Shipping / Display: The artwork is shipped rolled in a protective tube and will require stretching or framing after delivery.
Presentation
Teva Alina is a contemporary figurative artist based in Miami, Florida. She received The Best Artist award at Travel to Art World in 2023 and was invited to serve as a jury member for Travel to Art 2026 in Miami.
Working primarily in oil, Alina focuses on the female figure as a way to explore emotional states rather than individual narratives. Years of working closely with women and listening to their personal stories shaped her sensitivity to experiences of vulnerability, doubt, inner struggle, fear, and acceptance.
At the center of Alina’s practice is the belief that beauty and meaning do not have to compete. Her paintings are visually inviting, yet their emotional tension often lies beneath the surface. Rather than illustrating a specific event, she focuses on the moment when something begins to shift internally.
Her ongoing Transformation series examines periods of change that initially feel uncertain or painful but can later reveal themselves as sources of growth. Through contemporary figurative painting, Alina explores transformation from the inside, treating difficult emotional states not simply as crises, but as thresholds between one version of the self and another.
