Description

Transit State: Black, Sand, and Turquoise Abstract Artwork for Modern Decor

Black and turquoise abstract artwork welcomes collectors to explore "Transit State" (40 x 40 x 2 cm / 15.75 x 15.75 x 0.79 in), an original work by Daria Vergina. Its large, separated forms evoke the unsettled space between a place already left and a destination not yet familiar. Black shapes carry the eye diagonally across soft ivory, while warm sand and cool gray temper their intensity. Turquoise edges suggest distance and openness; delicate graphite-like lines resemble fragments of routes or an unfinished map. Rather than illustrating scenery, the artwork expresses adaptation, movement, and the search for orientation. Acrylic on Italian cotton canvas with varnish brings these contrasts together in a compact square format. This unique artwork is hand-signed by the artist on the back, in perfect condition, and supplied unframed. Its architectural abstraction pairs naturally with modern furniture, neutral textiles, and uncluttered rooms. It suits living rooms, bedrooms, and contemporary offices, offering collectors a personal connection beyond decor. Its theme also makes it an ideal gift for a new home or a meaningful fresh start.

Presentation

Daria Vergina (b. 1987, Kohtla-Järve, Estonia) is a contemporary abstract artist working in mixed media. She lives and works in Kohtla-Järve.

Daria's artistic practice is grounded in the intersection of abstraction and psychology, where painting becomes a tool for exploring inner states rather than external reality.

Working primarily with acrylic, she develops restrained compositions built on a limited palette of blacks, greys, and beiges. Within this minimal range, color functions as a carrier of meaning—from depth and uncertainty to clarity and acceptance. Her visual language is defined by simplicity, balance, and subtle tension.

A central concept in her work is the idea of the “inner horizon.” For Daria, the horizon is not a physical line but a psychological boundary—a point of transition between fear and awareness, limitation and expansion. Lines within her compositions act as fragile yet significant markers of these inner borders.

Her artworks are intentionally minimal yet emotionally layered. Through space, rhythm, and reduction, she creates quiet visual environments that invite reflection rather than interpretation. The viewer is not guided toward a fixed meaning but encouraged to pause, feel, and connect with their own inner experience.

In 2025, Daria participated in the international exhibition project When They See Us in Milan. She continues to develop her practice while engaging with international open calls and residency programs.

Through restrained abstraction and psychological depth, Daria Vergina creates works that function as spaces of inner awareness—where silence, boundary, and perception meet.
