Description
Together We Ride the Wind celebrates the freedom of moving through life in company. Farid Yudiatmoko Setjo describes two figures travelling side by side through currents of blue and turquoise, joined by the rhythm of dance and the wooden horses they carry.
Their relationship gives the work its emotional centre. They share a direction, a cultural language and the confidence that comes from companionship. The dance becomes a meeting place for loyalty, friendship and inherited memory.
The title invites the viewer to imagine wind as part of this shared journey. It suggests movement, openness and changing conditions, encountered together with trust. The artist compares the figures to friends running alongside one another, unhurried and unafraid.
Blue and turquoise reinforce this sense of flow. In the artist's description, the colours become currents through which the dancers advance, connecting the physical energy of performance with a feeling of freedom.
The wooden horses carry another dimension of meaning. They link the figures with stories and gestures passed between people, making tradition a lived experience. Its continuity depends on those who take part, share its language and bring it into the present.
Together We Ride the Wind offers a warm reflection on belonging. The individual finds space within a larger shared experience, supported by relationships that give movement purpose and memory a future.
Its theme can resonate beyond the dance itself, inviting personal associations with friendship, partnership and the paths we choose to follow together.

Presentation
Farid Yudiatmoko Setjo transforms the rhythm of Indonesian tradition into paintings filled with movement, colour and presence.
Based in Kawali, Ciamis, West Java, the artist draws inspiration from Kuda Lumping, its woven bamboo horses and the expressive energy of dance. Working in acrylic on canvas, he develops a visual language in which equine forms emerge through flowing lines, layered strokes and intricate ornamental passages.
Midnight blue, turquoise and emerald bring depth to his compositions. Earth tones, luminous whites and gold-coloured accents introduce warmth and contrast. Across this palette, the horse becomes an image of courage, dignity and togetherness.
His paintings explore the relationship between inherited culture and personal expression. In Woven Majesty, interlocking marks evoke the patience of craftsmanship; Intertwining Lines of Heritage develops the rhythm of woven structures; Desire and Soul considers the encounter between passion and inner balance.
Setjo graduated in English Literature from STIBA Malang in 2000. His experience spans artistic consultancy, teaching, artist management and community murals. He exhibited alongside Kartika Affandi in Surabaya in 2017 and participated in exhibitions in the Ciamis region in 2025 and 2026.
Founder of Katong Art Gallery since 2024, he combines his studio practice with a commitment to encouraging local talent. His work invites viewers to experience tradition as a living source of imagination and renewal.
