Beauty of the fading light, 2026

Rachael Dalzell

The beauty of the fading light -  The scene captures the ephemeral quality of twilight. Light dances across the surface in shimmering white bursts. Soft gradients evoke a feeling of atmospheric heat and cooling shadows. Bold splashes contrast with subtle glazes to build a rich sensory experience. The result is a vibrant meditation on light and mood.

Dalzells use of bold colors and fluid brush strokes creates a sense of motion and energy, drawing the eye across the canvas. This piece stands out for its bold use of color and the seamless blending of abstract and natural forms, inviting viewers to explore the emotional and sensory experience of the natural world.

Rachael combines abstraction with realism, inviting the observer to immerse themselves in the vibrant energy. Its detail and vivid palette make it a striking visual celebration of nature's beauty.

Rachael Dalzell's paintings are colourful and expressive. Her free and lively use of paint through various techniques, mean that Rachael's work is as much about mood as it is of place. Many of her paintings are based on the landscapes and changing seasons of her home in Norfolk. They celebrate the joy of light and colour in nature as well as the shape of the landscape. She describes her paintings as a 'snapshot' both visually and emotionally of a place.
