Description
A bee breaks off forcefully against a saturated red background.
The artist uses acrylic to transform this insect into a chromatic prism.
The body bears multicolored stripes that contrast with the depth of the background.
The gesture is precise. The wings are treated with delicate transparency.
The work with knife and brush brings a tangible texture to the material.
This figurative approach celebrates nature and the living.
The composition plays on a balance between anatomical precision and colored freedom.
The insect's gaze is highlighted by bluish and yellow reflections.
The paint is applied in successive layers to create relief.
The image captures a suspended moment, carried by a bold palette.
The chromatic contrast accentuates the physical presence of the animal in the center of the canvas.
Presentation
Semi-abstract landscapes, the ocean in the background, a ray of sunshine, the blast of the wind, animals… such is the universe of Françoise Augustine.
Inspired by her hypersensitivity and by colors from nature, she offers us abstract and figurative works leaving room for everyone's interpretation.
The acrylic, worked with a knife and a brush, is applied in thin transparent layers overlapping to offer a result evoking calm and subtlety. The creation of each work is for her an intimate foray into the discovery of what inhabits her and of these emotions of the moment.
Born in Compiègne, Françoise Augustine has been established in Occitanie since 2008. Having grown up with a felt-tip pen or a brush always at hand, she participated in a first drawing and watercolor workshop from 2001 to 2008 with Luis Rodrigues, painter of International fame.
She then explored pastel, charcoal and other mediums, but it was in 2009 in the studio of Antonnella Felzines that her artistic path became clear: abstract art and nudes in acrylic.
It is for its versatility that she chooses this medium which allows her to express herself with more freedom. She appreciates since the infinite possibilities of expression that abstract art gives her.
Her work is a hymn to life and to the beauty of nature and living beings. Françoise Augustine considers that our world needs gentleness, tranquility and love, this is what she tends to share through her artistic approach.
