Description
Acrylic on canvas, mixed media, high density pass modeling, imprints, golden patina. Marie Odile Wagner likes to work with different tools. Tools diverted from their primary function (squeegee, reclaimed wood, gleaned jets…) the manipulation of the tool, the first traces, the discoveries in the creation process gradually give energy to the canvas. These are accumulations of layers, erasures, additions that give depth to the work.
Presentation
Marie-Odile Wagner is a visual artist. In 2001 she undertook art studies and obtained a master's degree in visual arts at the Marc Bloch University in Strasbourg.
His pictorial research is developed around the trace and the imprint. She uses different techniques, painting, engraving, collage, sculpture, which she practices jointly or not. They enrich each other, and reveal constants: the quest for
relief and concern for matter, research around light, the visible and the invisible.
The light slides and reveals what the eye had not perceived at first. Creating brings into play the body, the use of hands, touch and sight, sensuality, transformation.
“Artistic creation for me keeps traces of the craftsman's practice. It is, at the crossroads between the different materials, the expression of an interior journey as of a vital opening to another. "
