Description
The still life is made in an expressive style with elements of symbolism and surrealism. The artist masterfully transforms the classic everyday plot, adding disturbing and mystical images to it.
In the center of the canvas, a large blue coffee pot rises. It looks monumental and becomes the main color and compositional anchor that restrains the chaos of the environment.
Above the lid of the coffee pot rises an arch, inside which a human eye is clearly written. This element refers to the archetype of the “all-seeing eye" or a symbol of outside observation, which instantly turns an ordinary still life into a philosophical statement.
Anthropomorphic figure on the right. From the semi-darkness of the background, the silhouette of a dark humanoid figure with blazing red eyes emerges. It resembles a mythical creature, spirit or a bizarre figurine, which brings a sense of suspense, mysticism and hidden threat to the work.
At the foot of the coffee pot, on the conditional surface of the table, traditional elements of a still life are guessed - a large ripe pepper and a white head of garlic. They are written more generally, merging with the general plasticity of the strokes.
The painting is built on a sharp complementary contrast. The fiery, swirling background, consisting of hot shades of red, orange, ocher and pink, literally "squeezes" the cold blue coffee pot. The work is executed with a thick layer of oil paints, on pink fabric, using a palette knife, which creates a rich three-dimensional texture and emphasizes the dynamic, emotional nature of the painting.
