Description
Deep hues of crimson and mahogany dominate this atmospheric expression. The composition evokes a vast, imagined terrain. Broad strokes of acrylic paint create a sense of geological weight. A dark, earthy green mass anchors the center. It pushes against a saturated red horizon. Above, a muted terracotta sky suggests the quiet light of dusk.
The artist treats color as a primal language. Every gesture reveals an intuitive approach to space and memory. The textures are tactile and raw. They mirror the erosion of natural landscapes. This artwork balances organic forms with a structured, cinematic composition. It transforms a flat surface into a dimensional exploration of place. Shifting chromatic relationships guide the eye across the canvas. The result is a meditative study of pigment and atmosphere. The piece concludes with subtle violet undertones bleeding into the foreground.
Presentation
Yulia Bulashenko (1990) is a Barcelona-based visual artist working primarily with abstract painting. Her practice explores color as a language through which to approach memory, emotion and the perception of place. Her compositions bring together organic and archetypal forms, intuitive gestures and shifting chromatic relationships, drawing from ancient visual languages and imagined landscapes.
Her background in film and visual media has influenced her approach to atmosphere and visual composition. In recent years, her work has evolved towards larger scales and a more material and research-driven practice, exploring the relationship between landscape, pigment and place through photography and experimentation with natural elements.
