When Life Give Rose, 2025

Adewale Adeyemi

When life gives you a rose, it comes wrapped in brightness, a smile, a glow, a soft fragrance the world can't resist.
People see the bloom, they see the colour, they celebrate the beauty.
But they never see what the petals hide.
Behind every bright rose lies a quiet ache, a heart that burns, a fire that shapes its beauty.
The world loves the bright side, the laughter, the confidence, the light.
But deep within that light, there are stories untold,
there are hearts fighting silent wars.
When life gives you a rose, it gives you both - the bloom and the rot, the fragrance and the thorn, the joy and the ache.
Before any ceramic shines, it has endured a great fire.
And behind every bright smile, there's a soul still healing.
This work is not just a flower - it's my reflection.
It's the part of me that smiles for the world, while my heart whispers through the cracks, softly asking to be seen, even beyond the bloom.
