Window | Blue Landscape with Birds and Flowers, 2026

Alena Ursova

A small white window overflowing with delicate flowers stands at the center of a luminous blue composition, surrounded by the silhouettes of birds in flight. Broad diagonal bands of cobalt and sky blue create a striking geometric rhythm, while soft pink, white, and yellow blossoms introduce warmth and a sense of home.

Window explores the relationship between the comfort of a familiar space and the freedom of the world beyond it. The flower-filled window symbolizes openness, light, and the possibility of welcoming new experiences into one's life. Its intimate scale contrasts with the expansive blue surroundings, creating a sense of shelter within an open, boundless atmosphere.

The birds bring movement to the composition, suggesting freedom, inspiration, and the courage to follow new possibilities. Their shadow-like forms appear to cross the blue surface almost effortlessly, while the flowers remain a quiet reminder of care, beauty, and belonging.

The artist brings these elements together to create an atmosphere of harmony and emotional balance. The painting celebrates the idea that a home can offer both a sense of security and the freedom to dream, making room for stillness, imagination, and change.
