1175 - Eolienne destructurée, 2001

Jean-Claude Coutaz

An abstract composition where the gaze oscillates between two atmospheres. On the left, a dark, dense block suggests a mineral depth. Touches of gray and olive green intertwine in a play of superimposed textures. The light seems to be absorbed by it, creating a marked contrast with the right side.
This second space opens up into an ethereal, almost airy blue. A radiating pattern unfolds there, evoking a decomposed mechanical structure. The lines stretch from a central point, like a flash frozen in time. The line is precise, almost technical, recalling a geometric rigor.
The artist uses acrylic on paper to play with transparency and material. The surface alternates between smooth areas and worked areas, bringing a subtle relief to the whole. This 201 work explores the balance between order and chaos. The cool palette reinforces the contemplative aspect of the scene. The final rendering lets through a search for the deconstruction of industrial forms within a dreamlike space.
