Description
This acrylic composition explores the boundary between abstraction and landscape. The gaze traverses a horizontal space where the material stretches in successive strata. The gesture is fluid. It suggests a distant horizon without ever fixing it.
The painter transposes their musical sensibility into their pictorial research. The colors are not simple pigments; they structure the space. Shades of azure blue and pearl gray intermingle. A few touches of pale pink bring a subtle softness to the whole.
The artist's self-taught approach favors suggestion. The forms remain free. They invite the observer to project their own vision of nature. Movement dominates the canvas. The brush captures an evolution rather than a precise moment.
The chromatic balance creates a serene atmosphere. The technique reveals the texture of the support. The final rendering evokes a coastal landscape under diffuse light. The work is composed of colored bands superimposed on a canvas made in 2026.
Presentation
Nicolas Ruelle is a French painter and composer born in 1969 in Argenteuil. He studied Letters and Arts and then became a composer for the French television. His passion for painting led him to explore this universe as an autodidact. He currently lives and works in Vendee, where he opened a music studio as well as his first painting studio.
Nicolas Ruelle's paintings represent mainly landscapes. He draws his inspirations mostly from the nature that surrounds him , the artist makes his two passions correspond to each other. His musical reseach is reflected on his pictorial creations. the colors play an important role in his pieces, since they are the structure of his paintings. The shapes are not only suggested, giving more freedom for interpretation to the observer. The artist represent nature in motion. His brush does not capture an precise moment, on the contrary it allows the object evolve by itself, as the absolute master of the painting.
Nicoles Ruelle exhibits his work regularly in France and Belgium.
