Description
This artwork is a magnificent manifestation of dynamic motion and vibrant color, encapsulating a whirlwind of energy within the confines of the canvas. The artist employs a remarkable technique that intertwines swirling, wave-like patterns, invoking a sense of fluidity and perpetual motion. The predominant use of warm hues—splashes of fiery reds, glowing oranges, and bright yellows—creates an immediate impact, radiating warmth and vivacity. These vibrant colors are meticulously blended with cooler tones, such as greens and blues, adding depth and dimension to the piece. The textural complexity of this work is noteworthy. The artist’s brushstrokes, whether bold or delicate, contribute to a layered effect that gives the painting a three-dimensional quality. This intricate layering suggests a meticulous attention to detail and a deep understanding of color harmonics and composition. What sets this artwork apart is its ability to maintain a delicate balance between chaos and order. The seemingly chaotic swirls and curves are arranged in a cohesive manner, leading the viewer’s eye across the canvas in a controlled yet free-flowing movement. This duality invites viewers to explore the interplay between spontaneity and structure, creating a captivating visual experience. Overall, this piece is a testament to the artist’s mastery of color, texture, and movement, offering a visually stimulating and emotionally resonant experience. Its vivid palette and dynamic composition make it not just a visual delight, but also a compelling study in contrasts and harmonies.
Presentation
My name is Michael R. Grine and I am an process oriented artist. I use a combination of found objects, acrylic paints, and aerosol paints to create abstract patterns on wood and canvas.
Statement
Curiosity. Emotion. Experimentation. Exploration. Leap of faith. Pursuit of knowledge. These words only begin to describe what my art signifies or represents. I was born an artist and have always identified myself as an artist. I possess an insatiable creative drive to make art out of the images I see in my mind. To help satisfy this impulse, I am always exploring new places and trying new things. Having freedom of expression and not being limited to one style or technique of making art are paramount to my identity as an artist. I love the many different processes of making art and experimenting with new ways of creating art.
My inspiration stems from color, music, literature, and the excitement about the unknown possibilities of taking everyday objects and using them in a way that differs from what the manufacturer intended. I use a combination of found objects, acrylic paints, and aerosol paints to create abstract patterns on wood and canvas. Some of my methods include combining different chemicals and paint on paper or in plastic or wood box frames to distort vivid colors that are mixed or thrown right on the canvas. The result is the distortion of lines and contours, and layers of translucent or opaque paints on the canvas or in random patterns.
