Description
This captivating triptych, featuring three exquisite images titled "Botanical Study #39" (on the left side), "Botanical Study #38" (in the middle, and never published before), and "Botanical Study #37" (on the right side), encapsulates the warm, inviting essence of autumn in a minimalistic black and white style. These images are part of the long-term project "Botanical Studies."

The concept of "Botanical Studies" took root over a decade ago, drawing inspiration from the timeless nature illustrations of Ernst Haeckel. Since 2017, you have been diligently photographing botanical objects in this very minimalist black-and-white style. This approach was profoundly influenced by the intricate sketches found in Ernst Haeckel's "Art Forms in Nature" (1899-1904) and Karl Blossfeldt's evocative photographs from the 1920s and 1930s. From these influences, your project "Botanical Studies" emerged, where each motif is intentionally rendered in a minimalist manner.

This limited edition triptych is a unique offering, as the image in the middle, "Botanical Study #38," has never been published before and is exclusively available within the context of the triptych. Each image within the "Autumn Chestnut Triptych" is a masterpiece of craftsmanship, with metallic ultraHD prints created under acrylic glass, ensuring the finest detail and brilliance of colors. Each image has an image size of 60 x 60 cm, with outer dimensions of 63 x 63 cm, making them truly striking centerpieces for any space. The frames are floating frames, exquisitely crafted from black oak wood, adding an element of elegance and sophistication to the presentation.

"Autumn Chestnut Triptych" is a celebration of the season's tranquility and nature's artistry, embodying the meticulous craftsmanship that brings these botanical studies to life. With only 10 limited edition sets available, it invites collectors and art enthusiasts to immerse themselves in the beauty of chestnuts while reflecting upon the enduring inspiration drawn from Haeckel and Blossfeldt's legacies.

Presentation

Nature and landscapes have always played an important role in his life. Matthias was born in the mid-1970s in a small town in Thuringia, on the edge of the Hainich National Park, in the middle of Germany, where he grew up very close to nature. Trips and vacations with his parents and grandparents often led to nature. He discovered photography very early on in his childhood when playing around with his parents' and grandparents' analog EXA and Praktika cameras, which were made in the GDR.

What started as a small hobby has developed over the years into his profession and his passion. Matthias' love of traveling also arose during his business studies. His fascination for landscape photography began with various stays abroad in Canada, Mexico, and the USA and their diverse landscapes.

In the meantime, this type of photography also plays a decisive role in his professional life. In addition to workshops and photo trips, he often travels to Switzerland, Austria, and southern Germany to produce work for commercial projects.
