    Artwork sold in perfect condition

Laura Makabresku reinserts the pictorial characteristics into the photographic medium by associating them with a dreamlike, sensitive and personal universe which raises the very great fragility of her world. The blur, the grain, the colorimetric chromatic choices accentuate the mystical atmosphere that the artist uses in order to reach a kind of transcendence - another reality, like that of the imagination - coming to thicken what we know. The artist questions the position of the subject in the world and entrusts his perpetual research to wanting to be part of it.

To do this, Laura Makabresku uses a fantastic vocabulary, drawn from legends and folklore to discuss the body. This becomes an envelope of the sublime and of a certain darkness, of a duality that highlights its limits, its weaknesses, thus releasing a beauty residing in our mortality. The artist penetrates into the heart of our deepest taboos, by bringing into confrontation with the spectator, the register of the sacred of which the body becomes one of the symbols. The bodies are here immersed in situations evocative of our discomfort, our fears and our melancholy. Photography here becomes a means of updating the fragile balance on which we are and accentuating the ephemeral aspect of human beauty.
