Description
With "Nature Takes Back Its Rights," I present a work for which I returned to photography ("painting with light") and painting, combining the two techniques.
These black and white photographs, taken by myself, are graphic compositions drawn from the plant world – trees, twigs, wood; here, the Tuileries Gardens in Paris. They are set in motion by the touch of color from the ink.
Color liberates the frozen image, awakens it, traverses it, transforms it, "makes its mark" when human beings can no longer do so (these border walls that spring up all over the world).
The memory of the photograph becomes unreal, the image is now a view of the mind, a painting. Nature awakens, pushes back, "takes back its rights" to occupy the space.
