Baryta silver print, 24 x 36 cm negative printed with an enlarger in the presence of the author.

Gil Rigoulet's Molitor Summer 85 series has become iconic.

A unique testimony of an era, a symbol of freedom, his images have travelled the world. They have been presented by Artcurial, and the Galerie Agnès b in Paris Photo, published in the Californian magazine The Unseasonal alongside images by Helmut Newton, and Vogue magazine (USA) published them.

In 2024, Yves St Laurent exhibits the Molior 85 series in Paris and Los Angeles.

Presentation

Gil Rigoulet is a French photographer born in 1955.

Gil Rigoulet began his career for the press in 1975: The newspaper "Le Monde" hired him as its first official photographer, he worked with them for over 20 years.

In 1986 he exposed his work with the help of Robert Doisneau in the journal Photo Magazine and took part in the exhibition "Vivre en maillot de bain " where he met other famous artists.

For nearly thirty years, Gil Rigoulet worked with several other famous newspapers of the French and international press, including Geo, Great Features, Elle,The Sunday Times ...

Gil Riouglet also developed a practice of street-photography in Europe, North America and Asia. During a trip in England, he developed a moving album of London photographies. He likes to experiment with Polaroids and he enjoys working on the development and oxidation of the films. His works are exhibited at the Museum of Natural History and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Paris.

The look is particularly highlighted in the works of Gil Rigoulet.The photographer who penetrates into the private lives of celebrities and anonymous manages to give life to his images.
