Description
Roland Garros 2024. After his first-round loss to Alexander Zverev, Rafael Nadal leaves the court. He hasn't officially announced it yet, but this will be his last Roland Garros.
Presentation
Initially, his thing is rather cinema, but the Femis refuses him and to stay in the picture, he integrates a school of photography ETPA Toulouse with the moral and financial support of his grandfather, Jean, who wants to see him go after his dreams: "The school was expensive and without him nothing would have been possible".
At the end of the school, he enters as an intern at the Vandystadt agency, a reference in sports photography. He is himself a sports fan, a frequent reader of L'Equipe since his youngest age and especially former junior Crabos of the Rugby team of Périgueux.
Vandystadt represents for France the legendary English agency All Sport and Lionel spends his week in archives to classify, duplicate, and legit the works of the masters. He forms his eye with their images. Simon Bruty, Bob Martin and Pascal Rondeau will be his teachers without knowing it.
The weekend he leaves in report for the agency. He offered himself his first 400 (2.8) always with the support of his grandfather and realizes his first reports.
He left Vandystadt in 1997 to join the Abacapress agency to which he still belongs.
For the latter it covers the general news. Sport, of course, especially since it collaborates through his agency with L'Equipe and its magazines since 1998, but also and especially the news "entertainment". Cannes Film Festival, Oscars etc ...
On the red carpet he also shines his class and his art of framing lick and spectacular close-ups. His technique, his reactivity and his eye, inherited from his work on the sport, make that on this ground too, he makes the difference.
