Description
This abstract composition plays on a deep chromatic contrast. The material unfolds in broad areas, where shades of earth and ochre blend into the darkness. A central rectangle seems to float, capturing a dull light that crosses the canvas.
The chalk work on paper creates a subtle grain. The transitions are soft, almost vaporous. The eye circulates between the areas of shadow and the coppery highlights.
The precision of the line emphasizes a rigorous geometric structure. Fine lines delineate spaces in tension, bringing an architectural balance to the whole. The gesture is controlled, calm.
The artist explores here the relationship between clarity and opacity. The composition invites silent contemplation. This piece testifies to a search for depth and light. The work is signed and dated 195 in the bottom right.
