Photograph by the contemporary French artist Camille Brasselet from her series “Diaphane".
In the “Diaphane" series, Camille Brasselet carries on with her endless exploration of the body. She looks into the dynamics between skin, flesh and clothing. The way clothing and other accessories hide as well as reveal at the same time, questions and fascinates her.
Camille Brasselet points out: “Bodies are eternally adorned with a second skin, sometimes it is the clothing, sometimes it is the gaze that the photographer places on them at the moment of the photographic act. Photographic objectivity remains a myth, and the photographer dresses the photographed with his gaze. The photographer is already directing the viewer towards something other than what is being shown. The gaze outside the frame, a side story, the start of something out of time. This results in double contemplation; the image becomes a 'window on'."
Camille Brasselet's photographic paintings have neither a beginning nor an end, just a suspended moment that she shapes by remaining on the porous, often shifting, edges between reality and fiction. Photograph by photograph, this contemporary artist explores snippets of stories and fragments of fiction. These theatrical people, usually alone, are frozen in a position of expectation.
Camille Brasselet's world is very visual. Predominantly pastel tones, rigorous minimalist compositions, implacable symmetry and an attachment to the choice of her settings characterise her work. She notes: “Everything in my frame, is thought through."
The artwork is available in two formats: 75 x 50 cm and 120 x 80 cm (formats without margins). There are 15 editions of the photograph in all formats.
The price indicated applies to the print alone, without mount and unframed. For all special requests concerning mounting and framing please contact us.

Camille Brasselet depicts characters in suspended moments through her photographic paintings. His universe is shaped by atmospheres bathed in light and mystery, as well as compositions in pastel tones.
The artist learned about painting, sculpture and engraving at the Beaux-Arts in Saint-Brieuc before specializing in photography at the Condé school.
Each of its images is constructed in advance. The artist starts with an idea that she sketches on paper before staging it in space. To do this, she researches the location, setting and characters for several weeks, even months. Camille Brasselet draws inspiration from painting and cinema to compose her scenes, often taking place in the domestic space. The windows and openings allow him to play with the mise en abyme.
