The Puna, meaning "high land" in the Quechua language, is a plateau situated over 3.000 meters above sea level in the extreme northwest of Argentina and dominated by Andes peaks that rise to heights of 4.000 to 6.000 meters. It represents one of the most virgin zones of Argentina although recent mining activities have sparked discussions regarding the environment and the rights of local indigenous communities, making sustainable resource management a top priority.
Through the original eye of the artist, the landscapes of the Argentine Puna transform into abstract canvases, where colors and lines merge to create a unique visual and emotional experience.
