Description
Dugudus is a graphic designer and illustrator. He is passionate about representing the French social and political image.
Political posters which carried messages of resistance and hope have now almost disappeared. Dugudus continues this tradition by offering a new identity to the committed image.
At the age of 20, he created his first political poster in collaboration with François Miehe, founder of the 'Grapus' collective from the Ateliers Populaires de 68. After studying in France: Estienne and U school, he continued his career in Cuba within the ISDi (Higher Institute of Design) in Havana. He was 22 years old when he began to tell the story of the Cuban poster, something no one had undertaken before. His work became a book: “Cuba Grafica” published in 2013 by Éditions l'Echappée, the release of which was welcomed by the French press and media. He works with the greatest Cuban graphic designers and learns to print his own images in screen printing. During a stay in Argentina, he met Diego Posada in Buenos Aires, an activist graphic designer from Taller Popular de Serigrafia - the collective screen-printed its revolt posters against government policy directly in the street.
