Description
At the request of his collectors, the Buysculpture Art Gallery and Royo are offering an exclusive selection of his finest works as limited numbered art editions. A highly exclusive collection you can now enjoy in your home at an irresistible price—be among the few to own one of these rare editions.
This collaboration between the Artist and our gallery begins with the “Equus" collection.
In his work “Equilibrio", Royo immerses us in a vibrant, dynamic scene where the harmony between power and elegance is the central theme. This piece transports us into a setting brimming with strength, sensuality, and motion. The female figure, dressed in warm, vibrant tones, takes command with a fluid yet resolute gesture, while the white horse—energetic and powerful—responds with a vibrant, restrained tension.
The contrast between the woman's graceful lines and the animal's overwhelming power creates a hypnotic visual dance, where each brushstroke captures a fleeting emotional intensity, showcasing the artist's mastery.
Dynamic textures, golden reflections, and an explosion of color envelop the scene, transforming this work into a celebration of balance between untamed passion and refined control.
The limited edition of “Equilibrio" is produced to the highest standards, available in Fine Art Giclée on Dibond aluminum, designed for those who wish to bring Royo's art into their spaces with the utmost fidelity and prestige.
At the request of his collectors, the Buysculpture Art Gallery and Royo are offering numbered art editions.
Dibond Aluminum: Royo also uses Dibond aluminum, which offers a uniquely pure and authentic look due to its frameless presentation. It consists of three layers: two platinum-white coated aluminum sheets enclosing a black polyethylene core. A thin yet durable film protects the photographic print on Dibond aluminum effectively and without bubbles.
The result is a plasma screen effect, increasingly used in final artwork displays in galleries worldwide.
The artist's work is created using a mixed media technique on an ultra-HD digital art design printed on Dibond aluminum, with latex and UV-LED pigments, and finished with a graphene coating for scratch resistance, ideal for indoor and outdoor spaces. Framed in a smooth brown Basilea gallery frame, made of wood and giving the piece a depth of 3 cm.

Presentation
José Mateu San Hilario, known artistically as ROYO, was born in Valencia on 20 December 1941, and his desire to paint began in earliest childhood. When he was nine his father a doctor with a strong interest in art acknowledged his ability and began to employ private tutors to instruct him in drawing, painting and sculpture. At 14, Royo enrolled at the San Carlos Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Valencia, continuing lessons privately from the age of 18 with Adolfo Ferrer Amblar. To supplement his art-historical studies he visited the major museums of Europe, seeing at first hand works that would inspire and influence him, including paintings by Diego Velazquez, Francisco Goya, Claude Monet, Pierre-Auguste Renoir and Joaquin Sorolla. There are parallels between Royo's art and that of Sorolla. Both have been described as 'painters of the light', and Royo evokes the startling blues of the Mediterranean under the southern sun most notably in his Mallorca works. Staying on the island each year, he uses its coastline and cliffs, its white sands and sea breezes, to heighten an already vivid palette and breathe extra life into the thick, flowing tresses of his subjects. At his estate in a village near Valencia, the settings are more tranquil, with orchards or white-painted walls as the backdrop.
